Chief minister Mohan Yadav and Union minister for new and renewable energy Pralhad Joshi on Monday inaugurated the 500 MW Neemuch Solar Park and the 450 MW Shajapur Solar Park. Developed at a total cost of Rs 2,080 crore, the Neemuch facility established a national record by securing a solar power tariff of Rs 2.14 per unit, the lowest in India.
The state’s green energy infrastructure is set to expand further with the ongoing construction of the 550 MW Agar Solar Park, which has secured tariffs between Rs 2.44 and Rs 2.45 per unit.
The CM said that clean energy now constitutes 30% of MP’s total power capacity, with the state surpassing 12,018 MW in installed renewable energy capacity. This includes the recently commissioned 60 MW solar plant in Jalud, built at a cost of Rs 271.16 crore, and an upcoming 6 GW solar manufacturing facility by Jakson Integrated Solar Limited in Maksi.

Concurrently, Yadav launched 38 industrial projects and regional development works in Neemuch totaling Rs 1,553.98 crore.
This includes the foundation laying of 30 new industrial units worth Rs 1,481 crore and the dedication of eight completed units, which combined are projected to generate 3,201 direct jobs. Additionally, the Chief Minister approved Rs 17 crore for the development of the Bhadwa Mata Temple complex.

Addressing infrastructural developments, Yadav announced the upcoming construction of a new highway connecting Mandsaur to Bhopal via Jaora and Ujjain. In the conservation sector, officials confirmed that the Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary in Neemuch has integrated cheetahs into its habitat, with two more slated for release shortly.

Union minister Joshi highlighted that the state is actively supplying solar power to Indian Railways and noted that the Gandhi Sagar Pumped Storage Project will soon produce hydro-power at half the cost of conventional thermal energy.
