Bikaner (Rajasthan): NTPC Green Floats Solar Module Tender For 1.5 GW Project

NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) issued a tender to supply solar modules for a 1.5 GW solar project at the RVUNL solar park in Bikaner, Rajasthan. It has sought bids till August 19, 2025. NGEL issued a solar tender on behalf of NTPC Rajasthan Green Energy (A Joint Venture of NTPC Green Energy Limited and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited).

Solar Projects Expands At Bikaner

Previously, companies like the state-run power utility NTPC have commissioned 245 MW solar capacity at Plot-3 of its Nokh Solar PV Project in Rajasthan.

NTPC Green has also commissioned a 288.9 MW Solar Project at Khavda in Gujarat. The project is composed of two solar power projects, with a combined capacity of 288.9 megawatts (MW), one in Gujarat’s Khavda region, the company said in a regulatory filing.

NTPC Allocates Funds To Its Green Energy Arm

Recently, the Union Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs gave India’s largest power generator, NTPC Limited allocated its internal funds to its green energy arm, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), is likely to boost the energy transition roadmap of the power behemoth. This comes at a time when NTPC aims to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy by 2032.

Formed in 2022, NTPC Green has emerged as a central pillar in the NTPC Group’s push toward clean energy, consolidating the company’s green assets under a single platform. In 2024–25, the NTPC Group added 3,972 MW of new capacity, of which 3,312 MW came from renewable energy, indicating a clear shift in focus toward clean energy in the group’s expansion plans.
